We started in 1984 by breeding Brahman bulls to top Simmentaler cows. Most of our animals are 5/8 Simmentaler, 3/8 Brahman. We believe this to be the best combination in terms of adaptation and total performance.

We do not "chase generations" but strive to breed the best with the best. EXAMPLE: An F2 bull on F4 females.

Fertility is the number one selection criteria. Breedplan breeding values are most important to us. Once again we strive for balanced breeding: Average size calves at birth with above average growth, medium size mature mass and enough milk.

Ultrasound scanning is done to measure carcass characteristics and obtain EBV's.

"In the next 10 years DNA testing for certain traits (genomics) will become the most important selection criteria. Weighing and measuring will still take place. Combined EBV's will be available. Visual appraisal will always stay important." (Dr. R. Hunsley, 2008)

We have found our Simbras to be extremely adaptable to varying conditions.

Animals with the polled factor are increasing steadily in our herd and Wisp-Will have bred 3 AI Simbra Bulls.
