Between 1967 - 1994 over
70 Simmentaler animals were imported from Germany &
Austria. With Fleckvieh as base South African type
Simmentalers have been bred. We started our Simbra stud
in 1984 by breeding Brahman bulls to top Simmentaler
cows.
In
2020 we started breeding the WW Reds by using registered
polled Beefmaster, Droughtmaster, Bovelder, Simbra and
Santa Gertrudis bulls on mainly deregistered Simbra and
some Simmentaler females.
Fertility is the number
one selection criteria. Breedplan breeding values are
most important to us. Once again we strive for balanced
breeding: Average size calves and ease of calving at birth with above
average growth, medium size mature mass and enough milk.
